The Edinburgh Festivals Guide

Every year in August, there are seven festivals on simultaneously in Edinburgh - including The Fringe Festival, the world's largest arts festivals. The pace hasn't slowed and this summer there will be a record 34,265 performances for the Fringe alone! For any visitor arriving to the city, navigating through the flurry of activity is exciting but chaotic.

Festivals Edinburgh brought us in as the official mobile partner for all seven festivals to produce a mobile version of their festivals guides using our location based technology.

The Product

We used our proprietary location-centric platform to build a multi-featured iPhone application:

  • find out what shows are about to start near their location
  • find directions to the venue
  • search for any shows across all of the festivals.

The application also links to the official box offices, provides user reviews and ratings, and at the last minute we're working on a way to show the availability of tickets in the infamous Half-Price Hut!

Promoters and festival participants can stand out of the pack by advertising their shows within the application. Our proprietary advertising module offers regular impression-based display of ads or advanced location targeting to display ads only to users in a specified location. "Geo-targeting" converts higher percentages by serving a more relevant message and call to action.
